Aleksandra Grządziel: HR is first and foremost about people

Behind every well-functioning team are people who care not only about processes, but above all about relationships. At Gpi Tanks Poland, one of those people is Aleksandra Grządziel, HR Coordinator, who has been involved in the field of human resources management for more than 20 years. On a daily basis, she supports employees and managers, leads recruitment processes and contributes to the development of the HR function within the organisation. What does her day-to-day work look like, what does she value most in working with people, and why does she believe that HR is much more than procedures and documents?

A career built step by step

Aleksandra graduated in Human Resources Management from the Higher School of Management and Administration in Opole and gained her first professional experience in personnel administration, payroll and HR administration. From the very beginning, she knew that this was the direction in which she wanted to develop her career.

“Over the years, I have become convinced that HR is much more than procedures and documents. It is first and foremost about working with people and supporting organisations in building engaged teams,” says Aleksandra.

She gained experience both in manufacturing companies and in organisations serving multiple clients. This gave her the opportunity to become familiar with HR processes from different perspectives and to learn how to combine expert knowledge with a practical business approach.

Before joining Gpi Tanks Poland, she worked, among other roles, as an HR Business Partner, supporting managers and employees in their day-to-day challenges related to team management. She joined Gpi as an HR Advisor and currently holds the position of HR Coordinator.

“My career path has consistently developed within the HR field. Thanks to my diverse experience, I have learned to look at HR processes from both the employee’s and the business perspective,” she emphasises.

A day-to-day role full of challenges

Aleksandra’s responsibilities are very broad. She is responsible for the comprehensive management of HR processes, from recruitment and onboarding of new employees, through personnel administration and payroll-related matters, to supporting managers in their day-to-day team-related decisions.

“My work is very diverse. It is difficult to talk about two identical days because every day brings new challenges and new employee needs,” she explains.

An important part of her role is also developing and standardising HR processes in an international environment and ensuring compliance with labour law regulations and the standards applied across the Gpi Group.

“HR is an area that connects people’s needs with the organisation’s business objectives. This often requires finding solutions that are beneficial for both sides. In such situations, communication, openness to dialogue and the ability to look at a problem from different perspectives are essential,” she says.

People come first

It is working with people that gives Aleksandra the greatest professional satisfaction. As she points out, every employee brings different experiences, competencies and perspectives to the organisation.

“What I enjoy most is the diversity and the opportunity to build relationships. Supporting people at different stages of their careers and seeing them develop their skills and achieve new professional goals gives me great satisfaction,” she says.

She also places particular importance on recruitment processes. In her opinion, finding the right person involves much more than assessing technical qualifications.

“Competencies are very important, but attitude, willingness to develop and the ability to work as part of a team are equally important. I value authenticity, commitment and responsibility. Candidates who can talk about their experiences in an honest and specific way always make a good impression on me,” she emphasises.

An atmosphere built on collaboration

According to Aleksandra, one of the greatest advantages of working at Gpi Tanks Poland is the atmosphere based on mutual respect and strong cooperation between departments.

“We have open communication and a strong willingness to support one another. This makes it easier to achieve common goals and respond effectively to emerging challenges,” she says.

As she highlights, another major advantage is the combination of the organisation’s local character with the opportunities that come from being part of an international group.

“It is a place where employees have room to take initiative, make independent decisions and genuinely influence the development of the organisation,” she adds.

Looking ahead

Employee development is one of the key elements of Gpi’s organisational culture. The company supports the acquisition of new competencies through training, participation in projects and cooperation with experienced specialists.

“I would like to continue developing together with the organisation and actively support its further growth. I am particularly interested in improving HR processes and implementing solutions that help build positive employee experiences while supporting the company’s business objectives,” Aleksandra concludes.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with a good book, working in her garden and surrounding herself with animals. It is there that she finds the balance and energy needed to take on new professional challenges.
