Wojciech Kozłowski joined the Gpi Tanks Poland team in December 2023, but his journey with welding began much earlier. Four years ago, he started with hobby welding of industrial furniture and gradually honed his skills. He was inspired by his father — also a welder — and his natural knack for craftsmanship. His biggest motivation comes from his closest family — his wife and two children. Today, Wojciech not only performs his job with passion but also continuously develops his skills, always looking for new challenges.
A new chapter at Gpi Tanks Poland
Before joining Gpi, Wojciech spent a decade in the window industry. However, the shift-based system and lack of stability led him to seek a new career path. He was determined to work as a welder, and Gpi Tanks Poland turned out to be the perfect place to achieve his goals. “I feel like I’m in my own garage here,” Wojciech says, emphasizing that he appreciates both the single-shift work system and the opportunity to refine his skills in a modern production environment.
What he values most about his job is the variety it offers. “I’m like a universal soldier,” he explains. “I do whatever is needed at the moment—welding, washing, testing for leaks. I don’t like standing in one place, and I never experience that here.” Being involved in a project from start to finish allows for full process control and continuous improvement.

Technology and challenges
On a daily basis, Wojciech works with TIG and MAG welding methods, and he recently started plasma welding using Lincoln equipment. His tasks include not only precise metal joining but also proper component alignment according to technical drawings. The process requires logical thinking, accuracy, and patience.
“Welding is more than just joining metal — it’s planning, anticipating, and perfecting every detail,” he emphasizes.
The most challenging tasks involve complex projects requiring high precision and work in demanding conditions. One example was a long-term project at a client’s site, where Wojciech had to return three times over three months. He faced numerous obstacles beyond his control. His work mainly involved MAG welding and conducting full-of-water tests to ensure the tanks’ tightness. It was extremely difficult but also a very rewarding experience.

Growth opportunities at Gpi Tanks Poland
Wojciech is a great example of how one can rapidly develop in a beloved profession when given the right opportunities. The company offers numerous training sessions and certifications, enabling welders to expand their skill sets. He himself has earned qualifications for aerial work platforms, overhead cranes, jib cranes, and has completed first aid training.
“Welding is like sports — it requires constant practice. You can never say you know everything,” Wojciech says. At Gpi, he learns something new every day and continuously refines his craft. He highlights that becoming a good welder requires patience, planning skills, and a willingness to work in an organized manner. Accuracy can be learned.
Work is also about people
One of the key benefits of working at Gpi is the atmosphere. Wojciech values not just the collaboration but also the relationships that extend beyond the workplace. “We meet after work because we genuinely like each other,” he adds with a smile. It’s the camaraderie and shared challenges that make Gpi Poland a place where one can not only grow professionally but also build lasting friendships. Additionally, the management team listens, notices problems, and is eager to solve them, which is a real advantage of working here.
What advice does he have for those considering a career at Gpi Poland? “Don’t give up, don’t get discouraged, and be willing to learn.” He stresses that the company offers great development opportunities, and anyone with motivation and determination can achieve a lot here.
