Maciej Szczepuła, has been associated with Gpi Poland since 2023 in the position of Production Manager. He has been developing in the manufacturing of stainless and acid-resistant steel products for almost 15 years. Choosing Gpi as the new workplace was a natural career change for him.
“I’ve been through a long career path – from an industrial fitter, through engineering and project manager positions to the role of deputy contract director. I chose Gpi a year ago specifically as I value on-going development and challenges,” says Maciej.
Characterful classic and Drive
Managing production requires predictability and being a few steps ahead of possible difficulties, which occur in every job. His day-to-day tasks can be described as ‘firefighting’, as he points out with a smile – reacting quickly to problems and solving them effectively.
Work brings new challenges, which makes it dynamic and exciting. How does he maintain his energy and motivation? The key is to appreciate every success, no matter how significant it is. “With Gpi we have a few things in common, but the most important one for me is DRIVE – it’s one of the values I believe in life,” – he adds.
Beyond work Maciej finds time to enjoy and recharge his batteries with loved ones, and dreaming of the 1970s Dodge Challenger R/T, a characterful classic of American motorisation.
Relating and inspiring
Assertiveness and being a leader rather than a boss are crucial when collaborating with highly experienced production team. Trust-based cooperation with clear expectations is key.
With a staff of about 80, Maciej pays attention to both skill and experience, as Gpi tanks are expected to meet high quality criteria. ” Pursuing perfection in every project is a priority for me. For the customer and my team, we want to make sure that the tank is the best product that can be offered.” – says Maciej
Maciej, with whom I work closely as a foreman, is an extremely genuine and optimistic person. He is responsible and committed to his values, which can be seen in his daily activities. Relationships with other people are essential to him, and the drive for continuous growth inspires everyone. Maciej is able to see opportunities where others do not, and with strong leadership skills, the ability to unite and motivate our team is invaluable to the company's success.
