In 2016, Dariusz Partyka set off for the Netherlands, not realizing that this decision would mark the beginning of his long-standing journey with Gpi. He started as a welder at Gpi Tanks Netherlands in Lopik and quickly stood out as an ambitious employee, eager to master the operation of every machine. He gained valuable experience on projects that required creativity, precision, and teamwork – from standard constructions to tanks so
tall that they couldn’t even fit inside the production hall.
After several years abroad, he returned to Poland to take on the role of Senior Foreman at Gpi Tanks Poland. As he emphasizes, this move was intentional – he wanted to continue working for a company he already knew well and apply his international skills in a new environment.
Early career
Dariusz graduated from a technical secondary school as a mechanical technician. Before joining Gpi, he worked in construction and later as a pipeline fitter and welder. Moving to the Netherlands was a chance for professional growth. In Lopik, he joined a team with an open and friendly atmosphere. – “Everyone got along really well, and I wanted to try everything. I learned to operate every machine I could, knowing that it would pay off in the future,” he recalls. One of the most memorable projects was a tank taller than the production hall itself – welded horizontally for the very first time.

New skills and perspective
Working abroad exposed him to tools he had never used before – such as plasma cutters and positioners. After returning to Poland, he also obtained certifications for lifts, cranes, and forklifts. – “It was not only a valuable professional experience but also a life experience: I managed to save money, discover a new country, and learn about a different culture,” he says.
Changes at Gpi Tanks Poland
From his perspective as a Senior Foreman, he now sees major changes within the company: greater openness, improved atmosphere, higher quality, and better communication. – “We have a stable, close-knit team and we strive together to achieve the best results and customer satisfaction,” he highlights. When looking for new employees, he values communication skills, good organization, knowledge of tank construction, and a sense of humor.

Imagination at work and beyond
“You are such a virtuoso that by looking at a drawing you immediately know how to build it” – Dariusz once heard from one of his colleagues. He adds: “I can confidently say that international experience gives you an edge. Everyone relies on it, as well as on my technical knowledge – on how to ‘bite into a project’.” This creativity and ability to connect many elements into one coherent whole is useful not only in production but also in everyday life.
In his free time, Dariusz enjoys sports and spending time with others – most often by playing or watching volleyball, but also by watching a good film or meeting friends. – “At work and beyond, it really all comes down to the same thing: a good atmosphere and a strong team,” he concludes.
