Adam Fediów “It’s huge satisfaction to see how the company has developed its machinery over the past few years.”

It must be admitted that the work of a foreman is the ability to demonstrate real multitasking based on responsibility for the entire team and coordinating all stages of the production of the tank. We present what exactly is the work of Marcin Rzepka, Gpi’s foreman. Adam Fediów talks about why welding can be called an art.

Steel tanks know from the inside out

Marcin knows everything about tanks – he started his career at Gpi as a production employee, where after over year he was promoted to the position of foreman. On a daily basis, he is responsible for planning the receipt of materials and their processing. It pays attention to delivery times so that the production department can run smoothly and build tanks as planned. Working in this position requires both maintaining the quality of work performed and caring for the team’s results. The foreman is the first to learn about the difficulties in production and must effectively remedy them. It is a kind of link between production employees and management.

“I value my colleagues for their creativity, motivation to work and care for production machines. Despite the division of Gpi into two locations, i.e. Brzeg and Skarbimierz, we are able to communicate and create a really harmonious team.”

Adam Fiedów, works as a welder in the production preparation department. He started his adventure in Gpi in 2017 as a machine operator, operating folding machines, and then rolling mills used for rolling sheets. In his current position, he is responsible for the process of correct joining of welding elements and for the quality of the welds themselves.

After hours

Marcin and Adam are true enthusiasts of their profession. In their free time, after work, they are engaged in welding and DIY as a hobby. As they emphasize, they like their work and feel professionally fulfilled.
It must be admitted that working as a foreman is a huge amount of challenges and stressful situations, but the satisfaction with the final effect, i.e. the view of well-made tanks, built in a short time, as Marcin points out, gives an injection of motivation for further action.
When we asked what gives Adam satisfaction at work, he answers: “Visible and high quality of welding, which is a standard and a model for others.” He emphasizes that he uses a TIG welding machine and a welding machine on a daily basis.

“It’s a huge opportunity for me, but it’s also a satisfaction to see how the company has developed its machinery over the past few years.”

How does the day in Gpi start?

When asked what distinguishes Gpi from other companies, Foreman Marcin says that unlike the previous companies in which he worked, there is a pro-family atmosphere, friendly relations between employees and an individual approach of the employer to everyone. In Gpi , one resorts to formal and rigid relationships. Marcin mentions that he starts every day at work with coffee, conversations with his team. These small moments are very important in building relationships.
Adam points out that there is no monotony in Gpi. He himself dealt with various tasks in the company, such as rolling sheets or curving the bottoms. Thanks to this, he got to know different positions, gained experience and is now trained to work with any machine.
